Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells: Focused on Organic-Inorganic Nanocomposite Membranes

نویسندگان

چکیده

The application of organic-inorganic nanocomposite membranes allows for a synergy between the desirable thermal and mechanical properties inorganic materials with reactivity, dielectric properties, durability, flexibility, processability polymeric materials. Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) suffer from some problems including water content management, carbon monoxide poisoning, hydrogen reformate, crossover through membrane. Herein, specific solutions have been proposed to above-mentioned using organ-inorganic nanocomposites. These include doping proton conductive nano-particles in membrane, preparing nanocomposites via sol-gel method, covalence bond compounds polymer structure, acid-based membranes. Furthermore, production low ethanol steam reforming as well effect CO feed PEMFC are explained discussed. Finally, conditions achieving maximum power density (EMFCs)

Novel inorganic/organic hybrid membranes for proton exchange

Two types of inorganic/organic hybrids comprising Brønsted acid-base ionic groups have been prepared and studied for proton exchange membranes (PEM) applications. The hybrid membranes have a highly cross-linked silicon-oxygen backbone and trifluoromethanesulfonimide (HTFSI) doped organic amine groups. The Si-O backbone provides the membranes thermal/chemical/mechanical properties and the HTFSI-...

Modeling and experimental study on the sealing gasket of proton exchange membrane fuel cells

In this study cross section geometry and material of gasket in proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells have been investigated to achieve optimized fuel cell in terms of energy efficiency. The role of gaskets in fuel cells is sealing of gas flow channels and preventing from combination of them. In a PEM stack, gasket with approved geometry that suffers more stress has better sealing. For this ...
